At the Cedar Closet, we incorporate cold-pressed sweet almond oil into our cuticle oil, body lotion, perfume rollers, sugar scrubs, and hand soaps to ensure that they are safe for all skin types.

We do not recommend ingesting essential oils. They are highly concentrated and may cause harm if swallowed without guidance from a qualified healthcare professional.

Pure essential oils are very concentrated and should generally be diluted in a carrier oil before applying to the skin. A patch test is always recommended to check for sensitivities. All of our products, with the exception of diffuser blends, have been diluted with a carrier oil and are safe for topical application.

Perform a patch test by applying a small amount of diluted oil to your inner forearm. Wait 24 hours to see if any redness, itching, or irritation occurs. If so, discontinue use.

Yes. Essential oils in diffuser blends naturally degrade over time. Most oils last 1-3 years when stored properly in a cool, dark place. Citrus oils have a shorter self life, while woods and resins may last longer. Always check for changes in scent, texture, or colour. Sugar scrubs should be used within 3 months of opening. All other products should be used within 2 years of opening.
